The African heat wave which started during the weekend and effective countrywide is continuing. While most people living in our city don”t know how to cope with the heat and keep coming up with mind blowing solution suggestions, Fethiye Municipality Ice Factory is probably having its most profitable summer. Officials say that ice production has increased considerably over previous years, and express their delight at the state of affairs. As the demands of many establishments, mainly hotels, chicken and fish farms and bakeries for ice have increased with the desert heat, daily production has gone up from 190 blocks to 250. Hüsamettin Aykırı, owner of the Fethiye Ice Factory, saying that the demand has gone up from last year, voiced his expectation of more demand in the coming years. Aykırı, who has been managing the ice factory, rented from the City Council for a time span of 10 years and located in the Kesikkapı district of the city, announced that the factory had the capacity to meet Fethiye”s needs, and that business would get better with the African het waves.
