Governor Yiğenoğlu also said that this increase is a sign that this year”s goal of 3 million tourists will be exceeded.
According to information revealed by Governor Yiğenoğlu, 98,300 foreign visitors entered the region by sea or air during the same period last year.
It has been determined that of the tourists coming to the region during the first four months of the year, a total of 92,153 came by air, 49,857 through Dalaman and 42,296 through the Milas-Bodrum Airports, and the remaining 31,108 entered through the Seaport Customs of Marmaris, Bodrum, Fethiye, Datça, Güllük, Turgutreis and Yalıkavak.
As usual, among the tourists coming to the region during the first four months of the year, the British are in the first place with 51,189 visitors. The British are followed by the Dutch with 14,043 persons, the Germans with 9,642 tourists, the French with 9,348 visitors, and Israelis with 7,152 individuals. The remaining 31,887 tourists are from various different countries.
A total of 261,000 beds, 200,000 of them with touristic certificates, are at the service of tourism in Muğla.
Approximately 14,000 of the tourism certified beds are at the yachting facilities along the shores in Muğla, also the center of yacht tourism famous for its blue voyages.
Governor Yiğenoğlu thanked all persons and organizations contributing and supporting the success of the tourism industry in Muğla, and said that he hoped the same sensitivity would be sustained for the positive reflection of this success to the country”s economy.
