The sixth Yıldızlı Turkcell Geceleri (Starry Turkcell Nights) music festival will kick off with a July 19 performance in Bodrum”s ancient theater by Turkish singer Zülfü Livaneli and American jazz-soul singer Jocelyn Smith.
The festival, which will gather the stars of the music world for five weeks in Bodrum, tops its line-up with Turkish singer Zülfü Livaneli and American jazz-soul singer Jocelyn Smith. The festival will continue with performances by Ferhat Göçer and Edip Akbayram on July 25. Hepsi, a four-woman Turkish pop band, will take the stage on July 26. Ajda Pekkan, a superstar in the Turkish music world, will perform Aug. 1.
The famous dance group Anadolu Ateşi (Fire of Anatolia) will perform Aug. 2, and Sezen Aksu, a composer and singer known as the “Little Sparrow,” will play Aug. 9. They will be followed by a performance by Sertab Erener and Fahir Atakoğlu on Aug. 15.
The festival will end with a concert by Yalın, a young talent on the Turkish pop music scene, on Aug. 16. Tickets will be available at the Bodrum Marina Yacht Club, Oasis AVM, Alin”s Cafe and Kaleönü, or at the main gate of the ancient theater. The concerts are being organized by the Beşiktaş Kültür Center, or BKM.
