The Marmaris State Hospital has received a diagnostic ultrasound machine thanks to a campaign led by a local administrator. Cemalettin Özdemir, concerned about the lack of an ultrasound machine at the hospital, started a campaign last week that consisted of phoning executives and businessmen. Over 40 such philanthropists promised to help and each one deposited YTL 1,000 into a bank account. The YTL 40,000 collected during the campaign was used to buy an ultrasound machine for the hospital. Özdemir said he considered not having an ultrasound machine at the hospital an embarrassment. “I want to thank everyone who has contributed to the campaign,” he added.
