The villagers who came to Muğla presented a petition which is pointed that they do not want any cement factory around of their villages to Muğla Governorship. Planning to found a cement factory by a company in Incirköy and Yeşil Üzümlü villages of Fethiye aroused the villagers. The villagers who have been struggling not to be founded the factory since September 2007 presented a petition to renew the ÇED report, doing the measurements again on the area where the factory will be build.
The group with 80 people who came to Muğla by two buses have given the explanations to the journalists in front of the Muğla Governorship with the placards on their hands. They protested and shouted and opened placards as “We do not want any cement factory!.”, “Hundreds of trees have cut to build up the quarry.”, “Incirköy doesn”t want any cement factory!..”, “Living as healty is our claim forever!.” The foreigners who have been living in these villages supported to the group with the T-shirts which is written on as “We do not want any cement factory”.
Ali Kışlak who has spoken in behalf of villagers voiced their reaction by telling as “A cement factory will be built to the backyards of our houses, the healths of our children are endangered.
Ali Kışlak who told that they have struggled not to be founded the factory nearly for a year told those about the item:
“Cement factory is wanted to found the area where is about 500m away from our olive trees. We tried to explained many times to authoritatives for reasons of this factory. It will be established nearly our backyard of our houses which is about 1-2kms away from Yeşil Üzümlü valley in the middle of thousand squares of olive trees in Incirköy where olive farming is done. However, thousands square meters olive fields on the area and being an agricultural area of Incirköy and Yeşil Üzümlü villages weren”t specified at the project which was prepared by the company, while the influenced area were being modified. All our tryings what we have done until now came to naught. Hereupon, we are going to present our petitions by coming to Muğla Governorship.”
Ali Kışlak who pointed that they are in the right for their claims told “It must be claimed to these wonderful corners of our country and must not be laid down for annuity. We want the real coordinates of factory areas and distances of it to houses, pine forests, olive fields and agricultural areas to be measured again. Because, CED authoritatives who we met pertinent to the matter in hand that it won”t be impossible to be approved for any kind of complex even for cement factory to 3km close of olive fields. If the real reasons come true in a short time, the CED decision will be negative about the factory.”
Thereon going on the protest, the policemen have the posters let down which were on the hands of villagers by warning the crowd in front of Muğla Governorship. Assistant Governor, Gürkan KARAMAN told “It is amiss what you do. Doing the protest, giving an explanation or demonstrating are violation of law without getting any permission. Choose one or two represant between of you and the others must straggle. Because, this protest doesn”t beseem to Muğla” by telling to the villagers that this protest is amiss.
Thereon, the group straggled and Assisstant Governor, Gürkan KARAMAN entertained the represants.
Assistant Governor KARAMAN who has listened the villagers in the meeting saloon of Governership told “the item is going to be analysed. But, I tell again, the protesting which you have done doesn”t beseem to Muğla”
Ali KIŞLAK who is from group represants pointed that they wanted the CED report to be analysed again and Anna ÖZBERK from village told “we love Turkey so much and the life of people who have been living here must be more important than everything. Turkey is so nice country with its people and nature. This cement factory which will be built here dissolves İncirköy and Yeşil Üzümlü village. Our request is that analysing these reports again.”
THE ITEM PROHIBITS
In 20th ıtem of 3573 numbered law about improvement of raising olives, it is pointed that any kind of complex which give dust and smoke out, leave chemical over which vegatatif and generatif stops to the olive trees which is minimum 3kms away from the area except oliveoil factories.
