The ninth edition of the traditional ölüdeniz Air Games Festival, sponsored by the municipality of Ölüdeniz, is scheduled this year for Oct. 15-19, with approximately 160 athletes from 40 countries planning to participate.
Ölüdeniz is one of the world”s top paragliding centres, offering opportunities for paragliders of all levels and hosting approximately 40,000 enthusiasts, both local and foreign, each year. Ölüdeniz Mayor Keramettin Yılmaz predicted at a press conference yesterday that participation this year would top last year”s numbers. Participants are expected from Bolivia, Canada, Afghanistan, Iran, Argentina, Israel, Egypt, Russia, the US, Britain, Germany, France, Greece, Bulgaria, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Ukraine, Switzerland, Austria, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Belgium, Italy, Holland, Syria, Romania, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Finland.
