Stagnation in house sales has led property owners to apply rather innovative methods. Property owners are offering interesting promotions to sell their properties.
Sadık Sadıkoğlu, a businessman who put his historic villa in Bodrum up for sale, is one of them. Whoever purchases his villa will also be given two shops and four apartments free of charge.
Sadıkoğlu said many customers applied to purchase the villa. “But if you saw the prices they offered, you would be shocked! You put your house up for sale but people come who want to get it at a bargain. They want to purchase it at almost a giveaway price,” he said and added, “We thus decided to offer a promotion to discourage this situation.”
Sadıkoğlu will therefore give two extra shops and four apartments to whoever offers the real price of the property. “It actually costs 700,000-800,000 euros but we are selling it for 400,000 euros,” he said.
The three-storey villa is on the seaside in the centre of Bodrum. It has two bedrooms and a sitting room on each floor as well as a six-car garage, a big garden and servant rooms.
