Akyol Village of Milas has applied to the Güllük Council requesting to be included in the municipality. The application of the village with 690 inhabitants is being considered.
Akyol Village which is 15 km. from Milas, has applied for acceptance into the Güllük Municipality. If the village headman’s application is accepted, Akyol Village will be removed from the list of Milas villages and will be considered part of Güllük.
Akyol Headman Ekrem Yiğit, pointing out that they paid their building taxes to the Güllük Council, and received many services, including security forces, from the same.
The village, 9 km to Güllük and 15 km to Milas, is just 1.4 km from the Milas-Bodrum Airport.
The village of 690 inhabitants, making a living mainly from olive growing and dairy farming, receive tax and gendarmerie security services from Güllük Council.
The Mayor of Güllük Council, M. Yavuz Demir, has said a decision will be reached on the written application of the village headman after evaluation by the City Council.
