21-08-2008 THE FIRST CORNEA TRANSPLANT OPERATION HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY CARRIED OUT IN FETHİYE.
The cornea transplant operation carried out by Surgeon Dr. Ahmet Gökdere is a first in the region, including Antalya.
Kartalgöz, serving in the Kartal and Pendik districts of Istanbul, is planning on building a large center in the Rahmanlar district of Istanbul, after the Fethiye Branch.
Providing services with two doctors in Fethiye at the moment, Kartalgöz Center already attracts considerable interest with its expert staff. The center, examining approximately 100 outpatients a day, has already proven its quality in service and success in surgical interventions. On the other hand, Kartalgöz Center, also offering institutional services, will probably be much talked about with the work it has started with the village elders. Kartalgöz, who has started institutional efforts with Fethiye Municipality, Fethiye Home for the Elderly, Fethiye Dialysis Center and Can Dialysis Center, is now planning on carrying out group work by obtaining lists of the poor, the sick and the elderly in their districts and villages from the muhtars, by collecting these people from their homes, and taking them back after the necessary treatment and care. Kartalgöz officials, announcing that they are at the service of the elderly especially with regard to cataracts, which are quite common, declared that they would continue with new initiatives under the leadership of Dr. Ahmet Gökdere and Dr. Sebahattin Bozkurt.
The center where all social security institutions are honored as well as private patients is a place where limitless and meticulous service is provided.
